Sliding barn doors are one of our favorite home improvements. They add style and privacy to your home, creating a focal point at any opening. Rolling doors were previously associated with barns and rustic designs but today’s barn doors are chosen for custom homes. They are being called out by designers for contemporary and even modern aesthetics. Barn doors don’t need to be rustic unless you want them to be!

Josh Heckman Construction Inc. fabricates our doors in house, to fit almost any aesthetic or design style. They can be constructed of solid wood, with or without patterns. In spaces where light is needed, rolling barn doors can be made transparent or opaque by using different types of glass. When combined with custom hardware, there are few more attractive ways to accent a beautiful home.

Traditional doors that swing in or out are often space killers, creating unusable area and dead spaces in the swing zone. Barn doors operate side to side, with steel hardware; utilizing large roller wheels on a steel bar. The roller wheels can be mounted to the top or to the face of the door. Sturdy strap hangers or hinges secure the door and provide for any number of aesthetics and design styles.
